Creating and scheduling an activation

Instructions

  1. Click on ‘Create Activation’ in the left hand navigation bar

  2. Select your audience

    Note: If you have no audiences saved as yet, you may need to go and create an Audience first.

    Click Continue.

  3. Select your destination and click Continue

    Note: If you have no destination connections saved as yet, you may need to go and create a destination connection first.

  4. Map your Audience fields with the Destination fields. This is the process of telling Wondaris which audience data to attach to which destination data field (ie: inside an AdTech platform).
    Note: Wondaris may automatically complete this step for you - in that case, just scan over the mapping to ensure it is accurate. You can use the (minus) button on the right of a row to remove it, should you wish to.

    You can add more field rows by clicking on Add new. Wondaris will also automatically highlight all the PII data.

    All sensitive data gets hashed before its sent out to the destination. Click Continue.

    On clicking continue, Wondaris will take you to the scheduling page where you can set up the time of activation, in effect manage your activations.

  5. There are multiple options to decide when to sync audience within the Wondaris activation module:

    1. Every Day/Week - The activation will be pushed out to a destination daily or weekly, starting from the following day after the activation is created.

    2. Once - The activation will be processed instantly which means the audience is pushed into the chosen destination. This process will start in 5 to 10 minutes from when the activation is saved and can take up to 45 minutes to complete (depending on the destination).

    3. Advanced Schedule - A recurring schedule lets you choose the date, time and frequency of an audience push into your destination. You can even just schedule a single, future push with this option.

      Select the scheduling option - enter the start time, time zone, date and frequency if its recurring; as well as the ending conditions (ie: never ends, after a set number of occurrences or after a particular date).

    4. Advanced Crontab - You can use standard Unix cron expressions to define complex, recurring push times down to the minute, ensuring your destination data is updated exactly when you need it. This flexibility allows you to optimize your data loads based on business cycles and system capacity. Note: This option needs to be granted by a specific permission. Please contact your customer success manager (at Wondaris or your implementation partner) to enable it

    5. Never - This state has a dual purpose: You have created an activation but have not yet scheduled it to be pushed out to a destination OR You have paused an existing activation

      On opting to Pause, the audience will not be activated till further notice. You do not lose your activation details when you pause an activation, and can come back later to change this status.

  6. Set notification in case you want to get notified when the activation push is started/succeeded/failed

  7. Click Continue to land on the Activation Summary page which outlines the details of the activation.

  8. Acknowledge the Data privacy and compliance laws

    Ticking the checkbox will activate the ‘Finish’ tab, which on clicking will prompt you to name and describe this Activation (this helps users identify the audience and its purpose )

  9. Name the Activation

    Once you have selected create, your push has now been successfully scheduled.
    You will then be promoted via a completion page ' You have successfully created an activation' to select your next desired action - closing this box will take you to the saved activations page.
